Petitioning 2012

Below you will find information about the petitioning process for the 2012 election. please be sure to pay close attention to the dates, as they have changed slightly.

The PA Supreme Court Order issued Wednesday January 25, 2012 DOES NOT affect the circulation of petitions for President, US Senate, Attorney General, Auditor General, PA Treasurer, US Congress, or Delegate to the Democratic National Convention.

The newly draw Congressional map lines are NOT affected!

The DATES FOR PETITIONING are Tuesday January 24 through Tuesday February 14 for the following offices:

• President
• US Senate
• PA Attorney General
• PA Auditor General
• PA Treasurer
• US Congress
• Delegate

The PA Supreme Court order applies ONLY to the PA Senate and PA House Districts. For a list of 2001 PA Senate and PA House Districts by precinct in York County please see this pdf.

“Any signatures on nomination petitions dated January 24 or January 25, 2012, shall be deemed valid as to timeliness, subject, however, to any other statutory challenge.”

The LAST DAY TO FILE PETITIONS for PA Senate and PA House is now Thursday February 16, 2012. The date of the Primary remains the same: April 24, 2012. The date of the General Election remains the same: November 6, 2012

The DPOYC is still hosting the two planned Petition Signing and Notary Parties:

• Saturday February 4 – 8:30 AM to Noon; West York Fire Department/Reliance Fire Co. 1341 W Market Street,
  York PA 17404.
• Saturday February 11 – 9 AM to Noon, Democratic HQ – York 275 W Market St York PA 17401.
